Members of the West Bloomfield, Michigan police department were just as thrilled as parents, aunties and cousins when they answered an emergency call made by a 4-year-old girl.

The child claimed the locks were broken and she needed help, according to the West Bloomfield Police Department Facebook page.

Her dad, Michael Joyce, called 911 and quickly learned his daughter needed guidance because she was so upset.

“The officers were so patient and kind with her,” Joyce told the Eastpointe Sun Journal. “I just cried afterward.”

Criminal investigator Ken Smith assured the little girl the police would get her home safely. She was taken to her Aunt Stephanie’s house and subsequently reunited with her family.

“They were amazing to her and I could not have asked for better officers,” Joyce said.

A little lesson to parents out there: There is one size fits all in a police department.
