'It's Just Kinda... Incredibly': Nicolas Braun 'Surprised' by Greg's Accusations

Nicolas Braun said he empathizes with his “Succession” character Greg, who has been accused of kidnapping and attacking his wife Grace.

Braun said that Greg has been accused of everything — including bank fraud and forging his brother’s signature — and said it’s “just, kinda… unbelievable.”

Greg has also been accused of kidnapping and assaulting his wife’s brother, Trevor Gould (Reggie Watts).

The accusations prompted Grace to call 911, which led to a confrontation between Greg and Trevor.

“It’s a crazy script that’s very well written, and everyone wants to play this character well,” Braun said. “But to have it backfire for you is a kind of shocking thing to come out of it, to watch.”

Braun said he’s been closely following news of the drama’s recasting, with “Saturday Night Live” alum Bobby Moynihan and Kathryn Hahn taking over for Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong as Greg and Kyle MacLachlan.

But Braun said the actors’ transition is different because now they’re playing each other, instead of Greg and Kyle.

“I felt a little uneasy at first. When they were like, ‘Oh, yeah, so they’re going to play me and Kyle,’ and I was like, ‘You know I know them, but it’s their first job and they’re doing it,'” Braun said. “But they’re both like the nicest guys I’ve ever met and it’s been really sweet to see them work. They were really proud of it when I saw them, which was really cool.”

Braun said the whole experience has been incredible.

“It’s just sort of surreal that this is happening, you know?” he said. “A few weeks ago, we had a table read of the next episode and I was like, ‘Oh, it’s time to wrap.’ Now I’m in this book. I’m part of this. It’s awesome.”
