Saudi Arabia is to open a $43bn (£34bn) “extreme park” which will include indoor ski slopes and rollercoasters and will open in 2020, local media reports.
The project, which will take six years to build, is the third and largest of its kind in the kingdom, according to an exclusive report published by the London-based magazine Arabian Business on Friday.

The main attractions will be a resort for tourists who want to ride rollercoasters indoors, where they can meet actors dressed as real-life inhabitants of the kingdom’s holy sites.
Pilots will fly indoor simulated aircraft and rollercoasters inside a separate arena, in which white-clad, full-body coverings similar to burkas are also worn, the report said.
As well as the new attractions, new hotels will be built in Mecca and Medina, both the birthplace of Islam.
Saudi officials were not immediately available for comment.
